Career & Pathways
Our goal is for students to have a multitude of options available to them when they finish their secondary schooling.
Careers & Pathways
At Wantirna College, we are committed to preparing students for life beyond school by helping them explore their interests, develop their strengths, and make informed choices about their future pathways. Our Careers and Pathways services are located in the Pathways Hub and are available to all students across the College. Our qualified careers practitioners deliver a wide range of programs, working with students and families in both group and individual settings.
We believe in equipping students with the tools and confidence to manage transitions throughout their lives. Our approach centres on career education, encouraging students to explore their interests, strengths, and influences as they plan for their future.
Highlights of our Careers and Pathways program include:
- Careers Curriculum delivered through the Explore Program in Years 9–12.
- Tertiary experiences and opportunities such as VET taster days at local institutions, incursions with the Australian Defence Force, and guest speaker presentations.
- Annual Careers & Pathways Information Evening in Term 3, where families can learn about programs and course options across Years 9–12 and connect with a wide range of external providers.
- Year 9 My Career Insights program and Mock Interviews
- Year 10 University and TAFE tours
- Year 10 Work Experience
- A dedicated Subject Selection Day for students in Years 8–10, where they are supported by experienced teachers to make informed subject choices, with parents encouraged to attend and be part of this important process.
