Work Experience

Work Experience takes place in Term 3 and is a short-term employment placement for Year 10 students.  As well as giving students insights into the industry and the workplace in which they are placed, Work Experience provides students with a valuable opportunity to:

• Develop employability skills
• Explore possible career options
• Understand employer expectations, and
• Increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence and self-confidence.

Whilst undertaking Work Experience, students will observe different aspects of work within their chosen industry and may assist with tasks allocated by their supervisor.  They should not undertake activities which require extensive training or expertise.

Students undertake a range of activities in the lead up to, and following, their Work Experience placement in their Explore classes.
