Mooroop Centre
Our state of the art Gym and Performing Arts space opened in July 2025. The name Mooroop was given to Wantirna College through an extensive naming process led by local indigenous elder, Aunty Doreen. The word Mooroop means 'spirit' in language and reflects what it means to be a Wantirna College student.
The four spaces in the Mooroop Centre were named by the school community after indigenous artists and athletes and we are proud of the beautifully designed spaces that are not only highly functional but also aesthetically connect to our natural landscape.
Court 1 – Patty Mills Court
Court 2 – Ash Barty Court
Drama Studio – Rachel Maza Drama Studio
Dance Studio – Ella Halveka Dance Studio
During school hours, our spaces are utilised by our Performing Arts and PE students however, afterschool and on weekends, the Mooroop basketball courts are utilised by Nunawading Basketball Association.
