Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) works with, and represents, the student body to strengthen student voice and improve the overall experience of students at Wantirna College.
The SRC is open to all students and meets fortnightly. These meetings provide an opportunity for students to share ideas, raise concerns, and contribute to school improvement. School Captains are required to attend as key representatives of their year level or portfolio, ensuring that a broad range of student perspectives are brought forward.
The SRC Executive Team facilitates all SRC meetings and is responsible for setting the agenda and guiding discussions. The Executive Team is made up of the following student leadership roles, supported by the Assistant Principal for Student Voice & Agency:
- President
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Publicity & Communications
Beyond facilitating meetings, the SRC Executive Team plays a critical leadership role within the school. They drive initiatives to strengthen student leadership, including the organisation and delivery of Student Leadership Training Days, and take the lead in coordinating fundraising events across the school calendar.
Recently, the SRC—guided by the Executive Team—has played a crucial role in a number of impactful projects. These include contributing to school uniform changes, improving seating across the school grounds, supporting the development of a new student bus shelter, and helping to allocate funds raised through out-of-uniform days.
The SRC also coordinates an optional out-of-uniform day each term to support various charities. Students who choose to participate are permitted to wear appropriate non-uniform attire in exchange for a gold coin donation, with funds directed towards causes selected with student input.
