Respectful Relationships
Every student deserves to feel safe, respected and heard. Our whole-school approach to Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) ensures a consistent and embedded focus on building a positive and inclusive school culture.
We are committed to fostering an environment of respect, equality and inclusion. Through explicit teaching and everyday interactions, students are supported to build positive relationships, manage challenges, and develop the confidence to make respectful and responsible choices.
Led by a dedicated RRRR Leader the program is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and is taught across all year levels. It focuses on eight key areas of Social and Emotional Learning:
- Emotional Literacy
- Personal Strengths
- Positive Coping
- Problem Solving
- Stress Management
- Help-Seeking
- Gender and Identity
- Positive Gender Relationships
These areas are embedded across classroom learning and reinforced through whole-school initiatives and events. This consistent approach helps students develop self-awareness, resilience and empathy, while building the skills needed to form and maintain healthy, respectful relationships.
At Wantirna College, RRRR is more than a curriculum, it is a shared commitment between students, staff and families to create a community where everyone feels valued, supported and able to thrive, both within school and beyond.
