Parent Involvement
At Wantirna College, we know how important parent involvement and partnerships are in improving student outcomes and therefore we encourage families to be involved and invested in College life.
Parent Forums
Parent Forms are an excellent opportunity for parents/careers to hear from the Principal, connect with other parents, and provide feedback in a casual setting.
Meetings: Tuesdays 6pm - 7:30pm, each term
College Council & Sub-committees
The College Council is comprised of parents, students and staff who meet monthly to discuss school governance and guide decision making. College Council elections are held every two years and any parent/career can nominate to join. Alternatively, parents/carers may wish to join a College Sub-committee.
Meetings: Tuesdays at regular respective times, monthly
Parents of Performing Arts Committee
The Parents of Performing Arts Committee (POPA) advocates, supports and encourages the Wantirna College Performing Arts program. New members are always welcome.
Meetings: Tuesdays 7:30pm, monthly
Environment Committee
The Environment Committee are an invested group of students, staff and parents who want to guide the school to become more sustainable in the future. New members are welcome.
Meetings: Tuesdays 5pm - 5:45pm, monthly
Academic Review Conferences
Twice a year, parents/carers and students are expected to meet with their child’s mentor teacher at an Academic Review Conference (formerly Parent Teacher Interviews) to review the semester of learning, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing. We encourage all parents/carers to attend these valuable meetings.
Events/Assemblies
From Year 7 Family Night to Year 12 Valedictory, and the ANZAC Day assembly to the prestigious Gala Concert, our College Calendar is filled with fantastic community events and assemblies that we encourage families to attend.
